Our Curriculum

Wee Care Day Nurseries - Our Curriculum

At Wee Care our staff and management teams work together to develop an age appropriate, mentally stimulating environment for the children. We design all our rooms from babies to our afterschool clubs to provide challenging activities around the developmental themes.

In our Dublin branches these are:

  • Exploring and thinking
  • Communication
  • Well Being
  • Identity & Belonging
In our Belfast branches these are:
(for the under threes)
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Language Development
  • Cognitive Thinking
  • Physical Development

(for ages three and over)

  • Social and Emotional Development
  • Early Mathematical Experiences
  • Language Development
  • The Arts
  • The World Around Us
  • Physical Development

These are taught holistically rather than in isolation.

Observations /Activity plans:

At Wee care we believe that to enhance the child’s holistic development we need to understand and observe the child’s individual needs. All children attending Wee Care have observation folders. Staff members observe each child than plan activities based on these observations. They photograph the activities to keep a record of each child’s progress. The observation folders are available for parents to view at any time and to take home when their child moves onto the next unit.
