At Wee Care we believe that the first years of a child’s life are fundamentally important. These are the cornerstone years that shape a child’s future.
We believe that children grow, learn and develop rapidly when they receive love, warmth, attention, encouragement, mental stimulation and nutritious well-balanced meals, with this in mind we promote in all of our nurseries:
Nicky Allister (King's Road branch)
Hi, my name is Nicky Allister and I am the coordinator at Wee Care Juniors on the King's Road. I began working for Wee Care in August 2011 in our North Road Infants branch where I became Deputy Coordinator. I moved to King's Road in 2012 to take on the role of Coordinator. I have a level three NVQ qualification in Childcare, Learning and Development and I am currently studying for my Level 5 qualification. I am also qualified in Paediatric First Aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Health & Safety at Work and Fire Safety. I am currently studying for Diplomas in Special Educational Needs and Disability and Child Psychology. I am the Designated Safeguarding Officer at King's Road.
Outside of work I am a member of a local amateur drama company and have been onstage in many places across the UK. The skills we learn in drama are very useful in Wee Care... communication, patience, a sense of fun, imagination and of course lots of repetition.
"It's our daughter's last day today, she has been going to Wee Care since she was 10 months old. It's the end of an era! I just want to thank all of the staff for their kindness, and for giving my daughter a home from home, in a safe and caring environment - with the added bonus of having lots of wee pals to get messy with :). She's laughed, loved and played lots.........and is just growing up too fast! Thanks for all that you do."
