Our Ethos

At Wee Care we believe that the first years of a child’s life are fundamentally important. These are the cornerstone years that shape a child’s future.

We believe that children grow, learn and develop rapidly when they receive love, warmth, attention, encouragement, mental stimulation and nutritious well-balanced meals, with this in mind we promote in all of our nurseries:

  • a happy, fun-loving and relaxed atmosphere
  • a warm, loving, safe and caring environment
  • the use of positive language and behaviour at all times
  • dedicated, professional, long-term and highly qualified staff
  • healthy eating
  • the creation of a home from home-like environment
  • flexibility in childcare options
  • equality, irrespective of gender, race, religion or disability

Nicky Allister (King's Road branch)

Hi, my name is Nicky Allister and I am the coordinator at Wee Care Juniors on the King's Road. I began working for Wee Care in August 2011 in our North Road Infants branch where I became Deputy Coordinator. I moved to King's Road in 2012 to take on the role of Coordinator. I have a level three NVQ qualification in Childcare, Learning and Development and I am currently studying for my Level 5 qualification. I am also qualified in Paediatric First Aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Health & Safety at Work and Fire Safety. I am currently studying for Diplomas in Special Educational Needs and Disability and Child Psychology. I am the Designated Safeguarding Officer at King's Road.

Outside of work I am a member of a local amateur drama company and have been onstage in many places across the UK. The skills we learn in drama are very useful in Wee Care... communication, patience, a sense of fun, imagination and of course lots of repetition.

Testimonial:

"The level of activity for the specific age group is excellent. There is always something new happening. The best thing is that my wee man loves being there!"
